|  Las Mañanitas is a well-established, family-run restaurant located in the heart of Playa del Carmen’s original 5 th Avenue, between 4 th and 6 th Streets. The owners, originally from Tuscany, have over 40 years of restaurant and hospitality experience, and it shows in their commitment to having an owner on-site nearly every moment the restaurant is open. The décor is traditional tropical Mexican: thatched roof palapas, open-air ambience, and brightly colored walls.
The menu is a huge, eclectic mix of Italian and Mexican dishes, with a focus on the traditional dishes from both countries, like arrachera, enchiladas, ceviches, and pasta with a variety of sauces from which to choose. There are also a host of salads and special dishes, like Surf and Turf and Lobster Pasta (yum!).
Playa del Carmen is a fisherman’s paradise, and the restaurant’s daily catch can be served in a multitude of ways: from Veracruz style, to Yucatecan style, to grilled with Tequila. A vide variety of appetizers and pizza options are great for those who don’t want a full meal or want to sample a little bit of everything good.
Open daily from 7 am to midnight, Las Mañanitas is the “go-to” spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
