Playa del Carmen, Mexico's virtual guidebook written by locals

pdc directory

Pachamama is a new store in Playa del Carmen, owned by Melinda, who also has La Hierbabuena. She has lived in Playa for more than 20 years and has a great eye for interesting new artists and high quality handicraft. She has traveled all over Mexico to find items and suppliers to her two stores.

Pachamama, Spanish for Mother Earth, is a great store to find top notch traditional Mexican handicraft, as well as modern adaptations. Much of what the store has to offer is one-of-a-kind and handpicked directly at the source, for example at Indian co-ops.

It's almost impossible to walk out of Pachamama without having found something you like. With a large selection of handicraft like handmade books and candles, crosses and religious art, hand painted wood and cute mirrors it's the perfect store to find a souvenir or a gift for someone back home.

Great selection of high quality Mexican art and handicraft from all over the country.
