| Get a taste of “old school” Playa at DJ’s, a popular new watering hole run by long-time expatriate local D.J. Young, and equally long-time local Jaime of Beer Bucket and El Oasis fame.
This intimate, charming spot’s décor features album covers, music posters, and other music-related custom art by a local artist, all of which highlight what is one of D.J.’s biggest passions. In fact, D.J. is also a terrific deejay (how’s that for truth in advertising?). He has a knack for knowing just when to pick up the pace or slow it down with his music selections. You’ll so enjoy the ambience he creates that, before you know it, you’ve just whiled away a couple of hours in his bar!
Another of D.J.’s passions is baseball in general, and the Chicago Cubs in particular. With his big TV and satellite connection, his bar is fast becoming the “go-to” spot for transplanted Cubs fans to watch the games. Got a game you want to watch while you toss back a few? D.J. will do his best to accommodate you.
Plus, with beer prices starting at only 17 pesos and mixed well drinks at just 25 pesos, the only way to get a cheaper buzz in Playa would be to hop into a time machine and go back to 1998.

Great little bar run by the gregarious DJ. Popular with locals. Good prices. |
