|  This wonderful little Italian restaurant is a well-established Playa institution that has enjoyed a solid reputation for years as one of the best eats in town. That many other restaurant owners go there on their nights off is testament to Casa Mediterranea’s quality. Located on 5th Avenue, but set back from the hustle and bustle of the street, it’s an intimate place for a romantic dinner. The ambient courtyard setting, with lots of trees and vegetation, provides a cozy neighborhood feel.
Casa Mediterranea is managed and operated by the Italian owners, Maurizio and Maria, who have a very hands-on approach and are present every day. Although ingredients are always fresh, it’s a good idea to ask them about their personal recommendations for the day.
The extensive menu includes typical Italian dishes, but also some interesting and different creations, like fresh lobster, Bigoli Al Antra, homemade pasta with duck sauce and a great Insalata Fruti di Mare, and the homemade Tiramisu is absolutely scrumptious. With high standard food at affordable prices, Casa Mediterranea offers great value for your money.
