my friend and I will be in Playa from June 10-17th, and we were wondering how easy it would be to just find a hotel once we got there, or do the hotels tend to book up this time of year??

I would say it's easier to find a good place on the web than it is to haul your luggage around in the heat while you physically check different places. Most of the nicer hotels have low season specials available online anyway.
