How To Stay Young
Disregard all nonessential numbers. These include age, weight and height. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches will pull you down. If you really feel the need for a grouch, there are probably family members that can fill that need. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Just never let the brain die. Enjoy the simple things. Remember - when you were young, that's all your parents could afford. When you were in college, that's all you could afford. When you are retired, that's all you should afford. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. Laugh so much that you can be tracked everywhere by your distinctive laughter. The tears happen. Endure, grieve and move on. The only person who will be with us through our entire lives is ourself. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge. Cherish your health. It it's good, preserve it. If it's unstable, improve it. If it's beyond what you can improve, get help. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next county, a foreign country, but forget the guilt trips. At every opportunity, tell the people you love that you love them. Just remember life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the times that take our breath away. If we had known we would still be here, would we have done anything differently? Well, now is the time, there's not a lot of later left!! |
