Please clarify. I don't don't read or speak a lick of spanish, but Lulu's tranlation was: "Oh my God, something something something something something." I understood the Oh my God part, but the FIVE something's kinda threw me. Thanks! |

This is exactly why I'd have preferred to take on the damn Yanks in the series. The whole spectacle is overshadowed by the curse talk. If I see another pic of the bambino I swear I'll be sick. And I read in the paper today that most Sox fans don't even buy into the whole curse thing, they leave that to the out of towners. . . Sloppy game 1, but I predict we'll have at least 6 more opportunities to see some good ball. Can't wait to bring it back to the Lou and hope Fox evens out the coverage a bit. Shame on you Joe Buck. Do we really need to miss pitches to see player interviews. . .Sorry gotta vent. Off to dream about a victory manana.

Okay, okay, okay!! Just got back from the gym, where one of the TV's was tuned to a sports station that was showing the lowlights from last night's ball game. Have to admit I didn't watch the game. Not that interested. Anyway, from the clips I saw, the expression that comes to mind is winning ugly...squared. How did they manage to convert the stench that was coming from the field to the sweet smell of success? Anybody who bets against the Sox after that performance is nuts! They're obviously fated to win this thing. They've apparently got the umpires in their corner, as well as the groundskeepers, and probably the peanut vendors, and parking lot attendants. Any team that can play that badly and still pull it off is obviously star-crossed and not to be trifled with.

I don't think we were watching the same game, Bumper.... But along those lines...... David works with a guy who has a whole conspiracy theory going: Sox winning the WS is all planned. Yanks were paid off, and the 3-0 lead they had was "just to keep it all interesting". The Cards will give a show but lose in the end. Gee. I wonder who's paying for it all?? Maybe the Big Dig wasn't all that expensive, and they were really just pocketing it into the "Sox Win The Series in 2004 Fund". (I think David's coworker better keep an eye out for those nice men in their nice white coats.) |
