Perhaps your kibi kibi is a variation on the traditional Lebanese dish kebbe (or kebbeh),a dish of lamb and crushed wheat (i.e. bulgur wheat). (We have lots of Lebanese restaurants and groceries in Ottawa, so it sounded familiar.)

Yes, Kibi is a variation of the Lebanese dish. It comes to the area via Merida where there is a large Lebanese population. I used to get them at San Francisco de Asis (the local supermarket) as a side dish every once in a while. Good stuff.
