They tested lymph nodes as well, they like to see 14 clear nodes & he had 31 clear or something of that nature. We haven't seen him face to face to talk. He is set up for a PET scan which is a research scan but it is something like a CT scan only more in depth. It's on Friday. We will be set up with an oncologist after the PET results are back & then we'll look into options & go from there. It's not the best news but it is the best you can hope for in this case. Thanks for all the positive vibes, we really appreciate them.
And yes, I believe we are heading to Playa as planned, that's the current plan anyway.

Sorry to hear that it was indeed cancer but given the outlines that you state here it sounds good in the bad.
The reason they check the lymphnodes is to determine wether they have to reckon with metastasis.
For each type of cancer there is a certain number of lympnodes of the area that get researched. If he had 31 clear that means that he had a lot (and more than "needed") clear which points strongly towards there being no metastasis.
A pet is a scan where you usually also give tracers that make metastasis visible. As the lymphnodes were clear there is REALLY good hope that they will find nothing!
So all in all not great news at the start but a very, very good outlook from what you are saying here!
Wish you tons of strenght and more positive vibes coming your way!
