Isuzu Trooper

Hello everyone! What a fantastic board you guys have here. I've been lurking for a few months and feel as though i know some of you. Strange ... I wonder if those of you who live there can answer my question: my wife and I were planing to drive our Trooper down to PDC and leave it there for us to use but someone told us that Isuzu is not available in Mexico. What to do guy's think ?
Your help would really be appreciated.
JR

not available.

add new brakes, clutch, timing belt (if OHC), stash some extra air filters (you can get oil filters easy enough) and you should be solid.

Thanks James for replying. We also have a 91 Accord that we could bring down, much like the one you drive ( I told you i feel like i know some of you from this board ). I am going to look into driving it down there if our mechanic thinks it's dependable enough.

Thanks, and again keep up the good work and thankyou for a wonderful board.

there is a relay on the Accord that you absolutely must replace or the car will not start in the sunshine (if it goes bad). bad problem around here. I found the solution with a Google search and the part was brought down by a friendly board member. Problem solved.

Interesting that you mention that. I had a similar problem this past summer and had to have a relay replaced. I wonder if the problems are related.

Why would you have the relay brought over from the US? I thought Honda is available in and around Playa.

I'm sure it's the same problem. Well known circuit board problem in that relay. It happens to most Accords of that generation.

Honda is available here, yes, but getting a part for a vehicle that they never sold here is less convenient (customer service is, um, less evolved here) than simply asking one of our very kind visitors to grab it and mule it down for us. It's quicker too, and usually I end up going into town to meet them, have a beer, etc., and that's a good excuse to get out of the house.

I got it... and you are right. It's a nice way to keep in touch with friends.
