One of my most memorable experiences last year over the holidays was waking up and watching the sunrise each day. There would be very few folks on the beach at 6:30 each morning, well, except for New Year's Day. Hundreds of folks were still going strong from the night before. Apparently the true die hards bring in the New Year at midnight, then continue the celebration for another 6 or so hours until sunrise.

Since we couldn't wait a full year for our next trip we won't be around for this year's holiday season. Because of that I haven't kept up with the Holiday thread, but if you get the chance, BFE III is an event not to be missed. That day was one of the best days I have ever had! Just thinking about it made me go grab that new bottle of Herradura.

Welcome, Canucks! You're in for a great time over the holidays. There are always lots of us peeps in Playa during this time and the activities and parties abound. For starters check out the Playa for Christmas and NYE 2004/05 thread that the master of ceremonies... aka michaelholmes... has started for this years festivities --- click here. Then check out the Holiday Events calendar located at the top of the page.

If you're interested in seeing what kind of fun we've had during past holidays... check out last year's Christmas and New Year Holidays 2003/2004 thread --- click here. Many of last years crew will be back in town over the holidays again this year... a few won't be able to make it... and a few new ones will take their place. It's always a fun time. Hope you'll join us in the fun!

This sounds like our typical schedule. I expect we will take some fairly long walks north from north Playa and then turn around and walk to a nice desayuno somewhere.

It has turned cold and rainy in the Pacific Northwet. about 7 more weeks, I think, till we head in that direction

Thanks for the replies.... I checked out the christmas NYE 2005 thread and the last posting was June 28, 04 (did I get the right one?) any plans since then?

I've been reading this forum for months and finally joined last night - I feel like a spy because I actually know so much about you guys.... well mostly what you like to drink - but that's a good start.

Anybody travelling to PDC with kids/young adults? We are mtg our kids in PDC fro Xmas = 25 yr old son + girlfriend, 23 yr old daughter who has been travelling in Mexico since end of aug & our 18 yr old son.

Are restaurants and grocery stores open in PDC over Xmas holidays? (Xmas day?)
How do we sign up for the BFE III?

Nope, not the right one... last post was made last week... I provided a link to the correct thread for you in my previous post above.

And believe it or not we actually like to do things other than drink.

I suspect there may be a few young adults in the mix... there usually are every year.

Yes, restaurants and grocery stores are open during the holidays... though some restaurants may close earlier than normal on Christmas eve and some establishments will be closed... However, you won't go hungery, if that's your concern.

Keep on eye on the forum for when James posts the signup for the BFE III. He will provide all the info at that time. However, please do not PM James about because we don't want Michaelholmes to get in trouble.

Was there to bring in the new year for 2002 and the town was pretty packed. Great time. Getting into town on New Years Eve this year and wandering about till the 16th.
