We've had a really unusually wet December (what's with that???) but life goes on.
Yesterday's Virgin Mary run went off as usual, despite some showers. It's a December 12th tradition celebrating the day in 1531 when Juan Diego went up the hill and found the Virgin Mary, then came down with roses in his cactus cloth robe (said to be the miraculous cloth on display in the Basillica de Guadalupe in Mexico City). Basically a group of runners leaves a small town somewhere and run the highways in shifts until they and the chase vehicle, loaded down with spare runners, arrives somewhere else.
