Greetings all, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to this fine community. I am a 27 year old canadian, I work as a graphic artist by day, run my own consulting company by night, fill in the gaps with all sorts of IT related hobbies; a professional dork.
I've always been a hardened pessimist, my cynical side dominates. This results in a depression which recently culminated in a burn out, which led to somewhat of an epiphany last week. I'm selling all my stupid crap, packing a lowly suitcase with bare essentials, and moving to Playa.
I've booked my flight 2 weeks from now, i've no clue what i'll do or how i'll live once i get there, all i know is i have to get the hell out of this sky rise and snow bank infested city before i go crazy. I quit my day job today before i could come to my senses and pussy out. I'm getting rid of the 3 computers, 2 servers and the wall of LCD screens in my living room, rid of the cellphone, PDA, and asterisk box, sweetest of all; rid of anything and everything even remotely connected to networking. If i never see a freakin router again in my entire life, it'll still be too soon. I will be experiencing computers and the internet only as an end user from now on. I've never felt so good.
Looking forward to exploring mexico, drinkin tequila, and making a garden, gonna grow me some corn!
Anyone of you local guys the result of flipping out like me?
