There is a large section of the Mayaland hotel that has no hot water. (and the bathrooms would lose in an aesthetics competition with bathrooms in a Pemex gas station). The management will not move you, but offer a partial refund. But you won’t get the refund.
The staff told us this (promise a refund) is what the management always does to the guests in that part of the hotel.
If it was the last hotel in the area, I would sleep in my car. Thankfully there are some other choices that do have hot water and decent bathrooms (and those places are cheaper). I hope the Mayaland works out for you, but you are taking a big gamble. And I bet the room was not cheap.
