You can get wood shavings in bags at the Montebello lumber yard on the east side of the highway. That will work but you may want to add some nutrients with it as it will rob nitrogen from the soil as it decomposes. Mega has "abono de borrego"- sheep shit, in bags. That would probably work mixed with the planer chips.
