. As for Mahahual, we were there in December and it's still a big mess. The people are OK, but I couldn't believe the destruction, even though I had seen the photos. The thing that impacted me the most was all those trees blown down as far as you could see. I don't think that's a big surprise that's it's in that condition, though, it will take years for the place to recover. In the end, I think it will come back stronger than before, especially when the pier's been repaired and the cruise ships can return.Heather, it would be a pleasure to meet you the next time we're in Playa. My in-laws have split up and my father-in-law's living in Cancun now, so I expect we'll be spending more time in northern Q.R. from now on which will mean more time in Playa.
