Tulum isn't like Playa at all, the accomodations on the beach are popular with "ecotourists", which means they're very rustic. I wouldn't even use the word "hotel" to describe most of them, most people call them
cabaņas. I don't know of any that are on the beach that have a pool, I've heard of one in the town that does; you might try asking over at
