You did the right thing. and.. I think Karen has a point about the dog. Some people are really freaked out about them (a mailman will tell you it's the little dogs that are the most aggressive). The guy acted like a jerk. I, though would not just let this go.
(I'm strange, ok?). I would send a friendly card to the address with a note explaining how you were doing a good deed only to be met with rudeness. At least you would get the last word and another bonus of teaching a jerk about doing the right thing too.

If he does get a note from me, it will be etched in the side of his car. I have found that people like this don't care if they get a note or are told they are rude.

As Softy said, I tought my daughter to do the right thing. When she brought the books to the 1st grader at school today he was greatful. This for me is satisfaction enough. Some people are just jerks I guess.

I lost my cell in a jammed crowd at a rock concert. I couldn't find that thing for the life of me. The next day I got a call from some dude that found it. He packed 'er up and mailed it to me. There are still a lot of people that do the right thing.

Another note:
Some people are like slinkys; Not good for anything, but you just can't help but laugh when they tumble down the stairs.

You did the right thing, JT, and that's it. What's that old saw about, "No good deed goes unpunished?"

You did the right thing. Sounds like you caught someone in a compromising position. What was he doing inside the car, that he wanted you away from there so bad?

I think you did the right thing.
I have always stopped along the road and helped stranded motorists.
Some people think I am crazy, but if my wife or kids needed help, I would hope someone would stop to help them.
