Thanks for the feedback

My restaurant list must be limited to those places either I or the general opinion of regulars deems to be reliable and eating establishments worth the visit and the money. I have kept several popular places off the list because I thought they were pretty poor choices, even though others seemed to enjoy the food. But I always checked the places out myself.

Gallo Limone is a nice looking place, and many tourists seem to like it. I have tried it twice, and I share your opinion that the food is spotty (with the pastas being the best choices) and the service disinterested. I would not go back here myself, but I have seen so many reports of other visitors who had a nice time there, that I include the restaurant in the Places To Eat list, but only to acknowledge that my opinion is not the last word, however, my reviews usually contain a caveat by way of warning of the shortcomings that I have experienced. Here is my review of Gallo Limone:

• Giallo Limone - is a pretty decent (but not great) Italian restaurant on 5th Avenue at 22nd Street. It has a very inviting tablecloth atmosphere but service can be annoying, but prices are fairly reasonable. Pasta specials are always very good and the servings are substantial. A 4 course meal goes for $20.
