EDR - What is the evening entertainment schedule?

Think I read this info somewhere but can't find it now. Just wondering what entertainment is on what nights. Trying to plan wedding and possible outings but don't want to miss Fiesta night etc. Thanks for your help!

There is different entertainment each night. For sure Fiesta night is Wed. The rest i am going by memory but I do have the schedule at home so if your really concerned just PM me and i'll look it up for you...

From memory I recall.....

Saturday was karoke night & live band
Tuesday was Cirque do Solei
Wednesday Fiesta
Thursday Miss El Dorado Contest

there was also a Casino night but can't remember now which one...oh darn...will look it up when I get home from work and will post.

Judi,

When are you planning your wedding for? We are getting married there May 28th, 2005. Of course....that means I must stay for two weeks!

We are planning to get married Apr 5th but are waiting for the hotel to confirm this date. We will be staying for one week and then using our second week of holiday to go home to Halifax for a family and friends reception. So many mixed reviews about the EDR but it looks like the right property for us!

Judi - I have 2 friends that run their own cozy catering business down in Playa. They also help out with event planning, breakfasts, cocktail parties, snorkeling trips, trips to Cozumel, etc...anything you need while you're down there. They do all this stuff for wedding parties, also. If you want their info, just let me know. I'll be happy to help you out. If not, have a great time and a beautiful wedding!!!!!

A little hearbroken

I'm a bit heartbroken at the moment because in September I booked the EDR for our wedding. At the time I was told there were no other weddings scheduled for that date and I asked for the latest possible setting which I was told was 6:00 p.m. I found out yesterday they've booked our wedding for 3:00 p.m. and my fiance's sister doesn't arrive in Cancun until around noon. There's no way to push the wedding back because they've already filled these spots. I can only hope that customs and transportation work in her favor!!

Runaway Bride,

Who did you organize your wedding at the resort with? That is terrible - maybe there is still time to change....maybe they would ask another couple to switch with you? I know I tried to book April 7th, and they were completely booked but they offered me April 8th instead.

Runaway bride,

That is soooo awful! I can't even imagine what you are feeling right now. But on the brighter side, your fiance's sister just may make it in time. Based on how crazy a day of arrival is in Cancun, you can usually make it through customs and immigration in about an hour or a little more. They're pretty quick there. Then, if she doesn't have enough time to take the 50 minute Riviera Bus to playa, she should just hop in a cab and tell him she's in a rush. My friend did that once and the taxi got here there in about 25 minutes (of course he drove like a maniac), but drastic terms call for drastic measures!! Let me know how everything works out!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Judi,

I was going to try switching dates but it's either his sister might not make it or my entire family will leave the day of the wedding. I ended up informing them to just leave everything as is. No response as of yet. I am kind of hoping they offer some other solution. Also, I'm going to pass along Sarita's advice to the soon to be sister-in-law and I'm also going to ask her to contact our travel agent to see if she can't get an earlier flight. Keep your fingers crossed! I have some good karma in store for me so I'm hoping it will come in to use in this situation!

Sounds like it will all come together! I have been dealing with Faith, the new wedding co-ordinator and she has been great. I always get a response from her within 24 hours (by e-mail) - even on the weekends. Getting a cab though sounds like the best thing. I heard it's less than 30 min by bus so by cab it's probably no more than 20 minutes from the airport. Best of luck!
