I might be there but I am not sure. Have to talk to my boss tomorrow about upcoming trips. I'll let you know!
I know some nice restaurants/pubs in the Downtown/Soho-areas, problem is, I usually know the way but no names and no addresses... There is one nice place near Union Square as well I might find out the name. Was nice there. In the lower East side area there are some german pubs/restaurants where my colleagues brought me. There is even one place in Lower East Side where they sell the beer which is made here in Cologne (the owner is from Cologne). |

I am really sorry, but I will not be there. I will be in San Francisco though the weekend before that. Just booked a short vacation there. If I am ever be able again
to open a thread in the 'off-topic'-section (right now I am not allowed to do so), I will post a different thread for a Playa Info meeting in SF....Hope you have fun in NY!!!!! And I envy you as I always enjoyed being there.... |

8th or 9th avenue and 37th or 38th street (the street that you take to take the tunnel). Looks like a dump on the outside has a name like the two somethings (in spanish). cheap furniture, cracked vinyl chairs, and like folding tables, but the BEST Mexican food in the city.

Here are two of my favorite eating/drinking establishments in NYC... though neither are Mexican.
McSorley's Old Ale House 15 East 7th Street One of the oldest bars in NYC opened in 1857 but didn't allow women in until the 1970s. It's not much different today than it was when it opened... there's still sawdust on the floor... years of history on the walls... and only two kinds of beer served, McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark. To read more about McSorley's --- click here.PJ Clarke's 915 Third Avenue at 55th Street Another NYC institution opened it's doors 120 years ago. Being a two story building on the corner of 3rd Ave and 55th St makes it look so out of place in today's world. Inside it's not much different than it was years ago. It's long been known as a late night hangout for politicians, actors and athletes. To visit PJ Clarke's web site --- click here. |
