My afternoon in the jungle with Sean Penn
Playa del Carmen has recently been blessed with the presence of one of the hottest actors around...Sean Penn. It was my lucky day when he called my boyfriend Eric who runs the ATV Jungle Tour to book a private tour. See, I used to be the photographer so I jumped at the chance to revisit this roll and hang with the Penn family. (thanks honey) Just a few hours of riding through the jungle, swimming in the cenote etc... And girls in case you're wondering he DOES look great in his swim trunks. They were so nice and it was all I could do to contain my self and keep from screaming out "Oh my God!!! I'm your biggest fan! I loved you in I am Sam! I can't believe you were married to Madonna...have you seen her lately?!"......well you get the point. It was a great experience. I have to say thanks to my Eric for putting up with my drooling over the photos with the girls that night at the bar. Check out the photo.

Stacy: Glad you got to meet a "star"!! Considering his reputation for not exactly being friendly toward photographers, you're lucky you got this shot!
He did an awesome job in "Mystic River". When interviewed, he said he warned the actors playing the cops in this scene that he would be fighting with all his might and that they'd really have to take him down forcefully. A heart-wrenching scene, to say the least: ![]() I have to remember to rent "Sam" one of these days. |

Yes, very cool.
I'm no movie critic, and those of you serious ones can critique or even lambaste me for this if you think I'm off, but I think Penn may have come as far if not farther than anyone I can think of in terms of his career and skill. I mean, from kids' stuff like Fast Times to being really impressive in about anything you see him in. Madonna has lasted as long I guess in her own way but seems like he has the last laugh on her in this department, all in all. Maybe there are others but I can't think of any others who have come along so far, except maybe (in a very different way stylistically) Johnny Depp, who I always like to watch these days. And Jump Street must be about the equivalent for him of Fast Times. Just rambling. Lucky you that you got to meet him! |

Sean
Iv'e heard of 'Weak in the knees' but I think this is the 1st time I have ever seen it in ACTION!!!! Check the pic....looks like she's on the way DOWN!! (NOT that way!)
Must have been cool meeting him!! I was lucky enough to meet the person I MOST wanted to meet in the world, several years ago. It's something you'll carry with you forever. With my luck though, I didn't have a camera. Good for you!!!! Rixx |
