The only way to keep things from mildewing and decaying is to run an air conditioner or dehumidifer 24/7. Bins are not going to be air/moisture tight, but perhaps vacuum bags might work a little better. If the air can get to them, the moisture can as well. Just be sure you don't put anything away with the least bit of dampness in it. The mold will eat it alive. I've stayed overnight in someone's condo in town (they are only here part of the year) and the bedding there about gagged me, the mildew was so bad! And I live here!
