Are you thinking of the Continental Plaza located right by before you get to the ferry pier? It was bought by the Palace Resorts earlier this year and is closed for renovations. It is supposed to reopen on December 24, 2004 as the Palace Playacar.

No, we saw that one. It is just north of Allegro Resort, I think right next door. It has palapas on the beach and is gated up just past them. Viva Azteca or Reef club Playacar are the only possible. Strange I haven't read anything about it.

Well, Viva Azteca is the resort right next to the Allegro to the north but I haven't heard about anything going on there and they're still taking bookings so....hmmmmmmmmmm....

This the beach that was fenced off, just beyond the palapas. I looked at a photo of Azteca and it may be that the north portion of their beach is closed.

That's what I think it is. The new Riu Lupita is remodelling the Caribbean Village Playacar beach club. Its beach is just south of the Reef Club Playacar
