Meet with some Texans on you trip?
Thor,
Some of the folks from Texas are planning on having a "peep meet" in the evening on the 31st and we would love for you and your family to come. What trip to Playa would be complete without meeting some *true blue Texans*!??!!? Please let know if you think y'all might attend. I'll be glad to fill you in on the details! Christy Louden48 |

I tried to get information from my travel agency here in Norway (Star Tour), but all they could say was that they would call me if it was a problem. They told me not to worry.

How was the weather down there? I'm leaving next week for PDC for the 5th time and I've been looking online at weather.com, but it hasn't looked so great.

Thor,
It was great meeting you and your family. Thank-you for the photographs. I’ll dig through mine and send some to you when the opportunity arises. I’m glad you had a great vacation. We really enjoyed the trip to Muyil. It was made so much better because we could share it with you and your family. Best regards to you and Kari and Martin. We hope you come back to Playa again before too long. Mike. ps Remember that camera set up I showed you for taking immersive VR pictures. Here are some of the results. http://villaflamboyan.com/MovsE.aspx This subject may be a good one for your photography classes. In addition to the creative element there is a lot of interesting math. Do a search for Helmut Dersch to read some more. |

Thank you Mike!
I'd better start my trip report. The time runs so fast after returning to Norway from Playa, and with new students it's much to do at work. But here it comes: Let's start with the beginning. After the long air travel, where we met 8 other Norwegians heading for Playa, we arived at El Tukan Condotel. I was excited to see how much dammage Emily had done. Here are some pictures of El Tukan: Our apartment right on the top. ![]() You can see some dammage on the tree tops. ![]() And here is the new palapa at Los Tulipanes restaurant: ![]() The flowers are comming back to 5th Avenue: ![]() ![]() The ****** opened on 5th Avenue. They should have started serving food by now. ![]() We came to Playa late Thursday and on friday evening Martin, Kari and I were invited to Michael and Rosie for barbecue. ![]() The picture was taken by Martin. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed ourselves. We met some other peeps also invited. Tyra, Sarah and Fat Cat Skipper (JEZ) among others. Last edited by Thor Henning; 10-03-2005 at 05:34 PM.. |

It's going slow with my trip report. I have so much to do at work these days and it's still not over. But there is more to come.
Rissask asked me before to bring cat food to the kittens at El Tukan Condotel, but I didn't see any cats there at all. They must have moved to another place Rissask. All was well at El Tukan after the hurricane. One of the first days we were staying there they changed a broken window in the apartment. |
