Among Playas many restaurants we visited the Cuban restaurant. They have live music every night and really great food.

They serve of course Mojito, and you may choose between white or brown Rum. I really like the Mojito made with brown Rum.

Yummy!!

My mouth is watering, those are the best mojitos in Playa! I like the dark rum also.
Great trip report!

We wanted to take a trip to Tulum town and asked two Norwegian girls at our hotel if they wanted to join us. We had a real good time. Watching, shopping and having dinner.

Tulum is quite different from Playa Del Carmen.

The town is small, but it's a nice atmosphere.

And you can bye some amazing things.

We had dinner in a nice place. The food was good and the service Excelent.

I'd better finish my trip report before we have a new year.

Kari an I had a day at Xcaret in August 2004, and we liked it so much we wanted Martin to experience it.

We didn't swim with the dolphins, but we liked looking.

The aquarium at Xcaret is great.

Hurricane Emily had done quite a damage. The stage for the evening show, in the background, was closed.

We had a river trip at Xcaret and saw this on the shore. I don't know if it's new or old? Anybody knows about this?

We met this friendly inhabitant. The girl and the two boys are from Drammen, Norway. We met them for the first time on the plane to Mexico. What a small world. We had to go to Mexico to meet those people not living far from us in Norway.

As the evening show was closed, they had a free ball game. I must admit we were disappointed.

We had a marvelous time at the beach in Playa. We spent most of the time at El Tucan Beach Club as we had free beads and umbrellas there. But don't forget to explore the beach north of the Beach Club. It is lovely.

Here is how the beach looked like north of the web cam.

And here is the beach south from the web cam.

Lovely, isn't it?

This is our last meal in Playa Del Carmen before we had to leave for the airport to go back to Norway. I hope these pictures show you that we had a lovely time.
We will be back. We just don't know when yet. I look forward to meet you all again.

Thor, loved the report! Thanks so much for taking the time to do it.

This was my favorite photo:

Absolutely beautiful photo...love it! Were you using a wide angle?

Thank you Ginger! Yes I were using the Canon 17-40mm f 4.0 at 17mm. The camera was Canon EOS 10D.

Thor.....I just read your whole report at once...picked up on your link to the Ek Balam tour.

It's a wonderful read and the pics are so terrific. Thanx for all of that.

Your last pic in the El Tukan restaurant makes me especially home sick. This is where we have our daily morning buffet and several din dins a week. We are returning to the El Tukan in April for 2 weeks...our 3rd stay there.

I hope we can get the same tour to Ek Balam as you...it looks wonderful.

Maybe we'll meet up at the El Tukan sometime......take care.

I remember you answered one of my first postings here Redhead. I asked about El Tukan Condotel. We have been there two times now.

The breakfast was in the other restaurant in august. At first we thought it was a pity, but it's quite good really. The food is about the same, and the other restaurant is indoor and has air conditioning.

The tour to Ek Balam is very good. The site is amazing.

Thank you Heather!

It's not so easy writing English for a Norwegian as me, so I thought it was a good idea using a lot of pictures.
