We just got back from staying in the 9000's and I agree, they're really nice and you have the best of both worlds. The quiet pools, swim-up bar, snack bar and buffet close to your room, or the main campus and beach a quick golf cart ride away. The golf cart drivers are half the fun, actually. We loved the large (2-person) jaccuzzi's and the fact that the 9000 suites are new and ship shape.

That said, if you'd rather be close to the action all the time and be able to pop back into your room from the beach, then the beach-front buildings would be better.

I don't see any advantage to the Haciendas except in the case that windex mentioned, where you can pop into the plunge pool while a baby sleeps. Otherwise, they're distant from the main campus without the advantages of the 8000-9000 buildings. Also, some of the Haciendas (6200's and 6400's I think) are right beside the entrance where all the buses, taxis and delivery trucks come in. Avoid those ones for sure.
