Is the surf calmer at the Lindo in late June?
I hear that the waters are supposed to be calmer here the closer you get to summer. We are going in late June to the Lindo and want to know if this is true. Can someone help please? Thanks

Surf
Not sure if this was just happenstance, but we stayed at Xpu-ha Palace two years ago in early June and the surf was pretty strong - so strong that the ocean was closed to swimming much of the time. We went again last year closer to the end of June and it was pretty mild - always open for swimming. In fact, it was a little too mild for me. I missed the strong ocean wind that cooled the hot sun. I would have liked it somewhere in the middle. I'm sure a lot of it has to be luck of the draw...

I don't think you can make any general assumptions about the ocean as something like that will change depending on the weather systems that frequently blow through the area.
June IS the beginning of hurricane season and if there's any kind of tropical disturbance passing by, well, you can forget the calm water! I also believe it's the luck of the draw but I will say that the Lindo is not known to have the calmest water compared to some of the other resorts in Riviera Maya...mostly.
