I wouldn't consider it heavy handed at all. One of my major concerns is for the impression it leaves with the newer members of the board. Those of us who have been around for a while are familiar with the "style" and presentation of the more experienced subscribers, and their personal agendas and philosophies. With that knowledge, we can choose to discount much of what is said, or ignore it altogether. Someone who does not have that degree of experience may take what is said at face value, and much of that is less than positive. As to the amount of interest shown in the thread in question, that can hardly come as a surprise to you. It's like a game of ping pong. Back and forth, with everyone reacting, some in a reasoned, logical manner, others on strictly emotional level. In any case, going nowhere.
