I totally understand the challenge of asking for money to support a cause across the border and your need for something to present.Your question is excellent & it is a commonly posed one. Essentially, the straight-up answer to the question is ...the problem of homeless, suffering dogs & cats is in fact greater here and yet the resources to address the problem are extremely limited. We are also finding most Foundations that award grants for animal welfare are prohibited to fund organizations outside of the US due to the way their charters/mission statements are written. Thus, it is extremely difficult to get funding as other rescues do in the states.
