It is very difficult to engage her in conversation, she confuses very easily. I can see deep in her eyes that she is trying very hard to comprehend and retain the conversation, but then she glazes over and I can see the sadness there.
We all want to have hope that she will improve but with each visit I have no choice but to accept that she's not the vibrant, active Mom she was.

I can relate a lot to what you're saying as Mom's dementia continues to progress. Just treasure all your moments with her now, what there is of her, no matter how painful, for as long as you have her. I will keep hoping for the best for her... and for you. Hugs to you all!
