credit cards

You might want to call your credit card company and tell them you are going to be using it in Mexico and the dates so when charges appear from out of the country, they are not flagged as fraud or declined. Also, if you have a user on your account who is staying in US during those dates, I would tell them that too, so if charges occur in Mex. and US too, they know that's ok. One user forgot to tell her ccard co. that her husband was staying in the US while she was in Mex. so when he went to use it, it was flagged. That way you don't have to worry about them being concerned about fraud or having to spend lots $ and time on fone to ccard company fm Mexico. That's what I do.

I clear out my wallet and only take the one or two cards I need. I photo copy front and back (bc that is where the 800 #'s are) and leave a copy of the cards, my drivers license, and my passport with a family member stateside so if I run into trouble, I know who to call and if my passport gets stolen, I can get them to fax me a copy. I keep my cell phone and all valuables, medicine, camera in the room safe when I am not using them.
