Dear Santa...

Since y'all are talking about Christmas, which is messing with my head since I sat on the beach for the first time in a few weeks today and Christmas and 80+ temps do not compute with me... anyway, ya got me thinking. What's at the top of your Christmas list this year?

For me, I'm SO glad to be out of the land of forced "gifting" and I want no gifts other than the necessities I ask friends to pick up for me and mule down. However, I'm very much looking forward to the merriment of hanging out with said friends over the holidays. So I'm pretty easy to (not) "buy for" this year.

How about you? What do YOU want for Christmas?

I want some real butter from back home! Ah well, I guess if I leave Mexico having trained myself not to use butter anymore, I've done a good thing.. *sigh*

I'm with you, Susie, I'm glad to be rid of forced gifting this year. Now it's just about the kids.

Although I have been eyeing up one of those carved pumpkin hanging lights......

We consider our trip on the 20th to be our gift to each other. There really is nothing important either of us wants that anyone can give.

Keith and I stopped exchanging Christmas gifts (as well as Birthday and Anniversary gifts) quite a few years ago. Our Christmas/Birthday gift to each other is our trip to Playa over the holidaze and that's truly the best gift.

Though I would really love an iPod.

I want the tenant who sued me and is still living here to either move out or drop dead (preferably somewhere OFF the property).

Oh, yeah. And Peace on Earth.

I always have soft comfy pj's at the top of my list... I could live in pj's... but I fear it would make for some strange looks at the grocery store! And this year I think a digital camera is going to be on that list. Oh yeah, and that World Peace thing!

I guess we're largely in the same boat around Casa Bumper as everybody else these days. I just love buying gifts, especially for Mrs. B, but we're at the point where we just don't want anything anymore. We long ago passed the point of need, which has little to do with want anyway. For the most part, if we need something...we just go buy it, which makes it tough to get things for folks. Okay, you can always get consumables, like corks for my wine making hobby, or a special favourite kind of booze, or blank CD's to burn, or printer paper, or along thse lines, but other than that...?? We're both dieting, and have no notion of what size we'll finally be, so clothes are out. How much jewelry can you wear? How much perfume or after shave can you use? The library has lots of books. Videos and DVD's can be rented. There's only so much wall space to be filled with art. There's no Hard Rock Cafes around here to buy pins from. How many cross stitch kits can you do at a time? I think we're spoiled and jaded. "Things" just don't seem to matter much anymore, and I guess that's probably the way it should be. Friends and family are what really matters. (Boy...am I ever being sappy today. I better come up with something disrespectful, impertinent, flippant and marginally vulgar to say pretty soon, or my reputation for irreverence is in jeopardy.)
