My heart is breaking today. Ted Kennedy has been one of my political heroes since I first became politically aware during the 1980 presidential race.

I understand that many on this board disagree with his politics, that's okay and understandable. I would make the observation that Sen. Kennedy is one of the most well liked and respected members within the Senate. He is gifted with the unique and laudable quality of fighting like a raging lion for those causes about which his is passionate, yet without letting his politics become personal.

Like his politics or not, no one can deny that he has done more for the average working men and women of this country than any other Senator in recent history.

My thoughts are with him. He has a reputation as a fighter, but this will certainly be the fight of his life. I wish him and his family all the best.
