Well, it's snowing again, and I guess we'll be doing a little more shoveling before the day is out, like we have each of the last couple of days.. It's been a long time coming, but I guess this lot is here to stay this time. The first of it to fall, will be the last of it to melt...next April some time, most likely. Ah, well...it was never a matter of "if", just a question of "when?" We choose to live here, so I guess we'll just have to do our best to maintain our well-known prairie sense of humour. I offer the following example.
![]() September 17th - Moved to our new home in Winnipeg. It’s so beautiful here. I love it. November 23rd - It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed in white. It looks just like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. We had a little snowball fight (I won). After the snowplow came by, we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful day! I love Winnipeg. December 2nd - Well, just about all the snow has melted. I hope we get some more. December 12th - More snow last night! I love it! The snowplow did his trick again in the driveway. December 19th - More snow. Couldn’t get out of the driveway to get to work. These Manitobans sure are a hardy lot. I’m exhausted from shoveling. Damned snowplow! December 22nd - More of the white stuff fell last night. I’ve got blisters on my hands from shoveling. I think the snowplow hides around the corner and waits till I’ve done the driveway. A**hole! December 25th - Merry Freakin’ Christmas! More Goddamn snow! I don’t know how the locals stand it. If I ever get my hands on the son-of-a-bitch who drives the snowplow, I swear I’ll kill him!! December 27th - More freakin’ flakes last night! Been inside for three days straight! Can’t go anywhere cause the cars stuck in a mountain of goddamn snow. The weatherman says to expect another 10 inches of the white shit tonight. Do they have any idea how many shovelfuls of snow 10 inches is?? Why would anybody with half a brain live in this God-forsaken place? December 28th - The Goddamned weatherman was wrong. We ended up getting 14 inches of the white crap! At this rate it won’t melt till freakin’ August!!! I gotta get a transfer out of this bloody place. The snowplow got stuck at the end of our street. The driver asked if he could borrow my shovel. I beat him to a bloody pulp with it!!

You are lucky, Bumper. We had beautiful snow on December 1, but it quickly turned to ice and we have had variations on the ice pellets-freezing rain-cold rain-strong wind and tiny snowflakes themes ever since. I just keep looking at that beach scene on the playa webcam.
Ours LOOKS pretty: http://parliamenthill.gc.ca/text/newhillcam.jpg very shiny, but not good for tanning!! |
