Secrets Capri/What to do to impress her
In a couple weeks, I am headed down to Secrets Capri for our honeymoon. I understand that they are booked solid while we are there. Has anyone been there when they are completely full? Is there anything that we should consider bringing if they are going to be so full, maybe our own pool floats or something? Am I just being a big weenie, and I shouldn't worry at all about whether the place is full? Also being down their during the holidays, do I need to make plans for excursions now or will there be availability when I get there?
Question 2 Its our honeymoon, and I believe that I am marrying the most incredible woman in the world. So I want her to feel like it. Is there anything at Secrets or in PDC that you guys would reccomend doing to make her feel like a queen, or any super-romantic tips for being down there? Any help is much appreciated... thanks! Weenieboy ... (just kidding). I know exactly what your saying ... I went through the same thing you did last May during my honeymoon at the Lindo. During the six months leading up to the honeymoon, I drove myself absolutely nuts
researching and researching on EVERYTHING about the area, the hotel, the excursions. I can't tell me how many times I went to this exact site and a few others screening through all the reviews. But here's the tip .... just relax and go with the flow. From what I gather, you picked one of the finest resorts ... the beach, the service, the rooms, the food, etc. etc. So there really is no need to do anything else other than perhaps get a feel for the room/building location - I'm sure you've already have done this, plus looked at a few hundred pictures of the resort. As far as bringing things down due to it being overcrowded - I personally wouldn't bother. Even at full capacity, I doubt that you will ever feel your being "crowded". Bringing things down almost implies that your "planning" and I've come to the conclusion now from my wife this is a big no-no. Once your down and all of the anxiety of the big wedding, check-in, etc. head down to the pool, have a cooly and just take it all in with grace. For me, it took me about a couple of days just to unwind. As far as the excursions go, it'll all depend on your taste and sense of adventure. For my wife and I, we wanted to go at our own pace and not get bothered with the tour bus thing. We settled on heading to Talum on our own (took the Collectivos from downtown Playa del Carmen), followed by Xhel-Ha (or whatever it is spelled) the next day. We went to Cozomel later in the week, but really didn't care too much for this as the hustle and bustle of people trying to sell you things as you get off the boat put a damper on things - the boat ride and beach we went to was fun though. We also went to Cancun during one day, because my wife wanted to shop and I wanted to just sit on the beach, swim in the tourcoise waters and take in a beer or two - so we compromised and did a little of both. "Compromise" is the other thing that I'm sure you'll catch on pretty fast. Above all, the best excursion was Talum and of course the evenings walking along 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. There is something for everyone there. Toooooooo many beautiful and romantic restaurants to choose from. So that's it Wiles in a nutshell... Last minute romantic tips ... my best advice is to just be yourself - that's why she married you, right? Plan a 'few things' just to show her that you've done your homework and that you care, but the best thing to do is discuss with her once your donw there, base on the weather, your interest and energy levels. Have a good one Wiles! |

I have never been there before but maybe they can bring up some cake and champagne to your room? Maybe massages for 2 on the beach or poolside?
Sometimes tables can be set up right on the beach at sunset for a romantic dinner. You should email conceirge and see what all the can do for you. Congrats |

My only bit of advice:
do NOT eat at the Blue Lobster. You shouldn't need a knife to cut broiled lobster. It was the worst $50/plate meal I've ever had in my life. That was the only disaster on our honeymoon.......it sucks we paid about $35 in cab fare to go to town and back for that crap. |
