HEY Guys!! The mention of backstrap...mmmmmmmm...My 11 year old killed his first deer this morning! It was a HUGE 4 point, had little nubs about to go to a 6 point(around 170 lbs.) He got it right thru the heart, perfect shot!

So we'll be havin' lots of awesome sausage, backstrap, deer burgers,etc..... YUMYUM! I am sooooo proud of him :p He is totally stoked, and glad to get that 1st kill

Just wanted to share! Scott's comment above made me think of all that good venison cookin' to come

To respond to the ? in the thread, yep, I completely believe in all of the above. Most times when the phone rings I know who it is BEFORE I answer it. And for all you funny guys out there, I mean BEFORE I look at caller ID

My husband and I also read each other's minds. We start sentences about the same subject all the time.

Well Softy is fixen a venison roast as I'm writing this. I'm not sure if this was freshly killed or road kill that softy's kid gets once in a while. If its in front of me I'll eat it.
