Grand Xcaret Question
Hi everyone,
This is my first post so bear with me. My wife and I are finally booked for a honeymoon at the Grand Xcaret in Feb 2005. We are both divers and appreciate all the info from posters who have stayed at the Xcaret, it gives us a great heads-up. We are interested in doing some diving while staying at the resort but trying to find out information about diving at Xcaret or the dive shop/operator is about near impossible. If anybody has any info about diving at Xcaret, it would be much appreciated if you could pass it on. Thanks!!! |

Hi TN Diver.. We stayed at the Grand Xcaret Feb '04. My husband is a diver & he talked to the Xcaret Park reps located in the snorkle hut near the resorts lagoon area. He was able to get a dive package, 5 dives (included a night dive) for around $100-$120. They picked him up in the lobby each morning & drove over to the Park to board the boat. My husband thought it was a great deal & enjoyed all the dives. He checked with the dive/tour rep in the lobby, but the package with the Xcaret Park guys was a much better deal. We're hoping to be at the Grand Xcaret in Feb '05 too, but some family issues might force us to change dates.
Hope you have a great time. ![]() |

I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's almost impossible not to. We've been to the Playa/Riviera Maya area three times. We like it so much, we can't resist going back every year.
We're hoping to go back around the 23rd.Have fun! ![]() |

TN Diver, btw, I do remember that the Xcaret Park rep had a separate office in the lobby. It's the same office where you pick up your complimentary one day pass to the park. I'm sure they could help you there in the office with your scuba diving if you don't want to walk down to the snorkel shack by the lagoon. I also remembered that the travel rep that my husband talked to 1st (more expensive) about a dive package was downstairs from the lobby. Hope this clarification helps.
Again, hope you have a great time. stevo111, Have you been to the Grand Xcaret before? Hope you enjoy |

The resort is very nice. We were there March '04. Loved the food and drinks and the layout is beautiful. Our only snafu at all was that they were having a bit of a sewage problem (smell) that was affecting the main lobby/bar area. Other than that...it was just great!
