Rather old news... but I got on the list last year and the only calls I get now are from charities and political groups (both exempt from "do not call").
There's a rumor going around that telemarketers will gain access to cell phone numbers and barrage us with calls. Not true. Just another internet/email urban legend gone wild.

I put my name on the list a year ago and the number of calls has been drastically reduced. A good program for sure.

Actually my cousin works for a city office and this was sent to them thru state channels.

We recieved that same message at work. I got on that internet site right away and registered my cell phone on the do not call list.
It's bad enough at home getting those things. Now they have access to your cell phones, thats just crazy.

yeah, them telemarketers are almost as bad as car salesman

As I mentioned above, the cell phone list is not entirely true. You have to opt in to be in the directory. If you don't opt in...you cannot get calls.
