The Super Bowl

I will be down during the Super Bowl and I'm curious of a good place to hang out and watch the game. If I would have paid more attention I wouldn't have scheduled our vacation during this time because I usually hang out with friends, but oh well. This may sound like a stupid question, but will the game be commentated in English? I know a little Spanish, but not enough to follow a game.

Well I'm a Dolphins fan, so my team is long gone. The Colts are my local team so I guess I'll be rooting for them, but the Steelers are gonna be tough to beat. By the way, can anyone answer my original questions? Thanks

I've been in Playa del Carmen for probably the last 5 Superbowls and during that period a few sports bars have come and gone. For the last two years, TGI-Fridays (Calle 8 & 5th Avenue) has turned itself into a sports bar and gets the feed in English but it does get a bit crowded and the layout is awkward. Last year, we watched the game at ******'s Dragon Bar where they setup a large screen and offered the game in English. With their latest remodel job it's questionable whether they'll do it again. Bourbon Street (5th Avenue between Calle 6 & 8) has a sizeable screen and would be a popular place to catch the game. The most popular place to consistently catch the game in English has always been at Cabalova but I haven't heard whether they've moved into a new location yet.

Karen's Pizza and Deseo (both on 5th Avenue) usually show the game in Spanish. We watched the game at Deseo one year, just because someone had turned on the heaters for the hottub. It was kind of nice not having to listen to the commentators.

Hey Kinz. I can't believe you didn't suggest our ole' stompin' grounds-- Cabalovas. It's still there, right? Big screen tv great for watchin the Cowboys lose to Carolina last year, huh? Can't remember exactly where it is located, SB. Had a few too many beverages that particular day.... Maybe someone else can direct you to it's location....
