I think it's safe to say that you can run to your hearts content. You may want to avoid the main walkways to avoid innocent pedestrians. The complex is huge and there are many wide "alleys", and nothing says you have to stay within the complex. Five months till the marathon...better push it past 6 miles a day

6 miles per day during vacation is just fine...maybe one long run during that time and utilize the shorter distances for speed work...A long run of 15-17 or 17-20 miles 1 day per week with runs of 8-10 in-between (and a shorter run of 6-8 meant for speed) and you'll be in great shape for the Marathon. I'd recommend taking and using a camelback made for roadwork as hydration in PdC should be at a premium for you. Which Marathon did you run to qualify for Boston? Or, is there one between now and that time that you will use as your qualifier? Also, since you're talking about Boston you must be somewhat of an experienced (or talented) runner, are you keeping a journal of your workouts, etc? Have a great trip, fit in your workouts as you can, but don't stress out over them. A week of lighter workouts is actually recommended once in awhile... |

thanks for your input. i have run boston the past two years. i get a charity number because i run to raise money for patient support of pediatric cancer. i'm on a great running schedule and plan a slow week of 6 mi. per day. the push will start when i get back home.
