How is the beach at Continental Plaza Playacar? Also, where do you fly into? Cancun or Cozumel?
Thanks!

You would normally fly into Cancun, unless your going to spend your time on the island of Cozumel and dont want to deal with the ferry. All the beaches are great it just depends on what you like. All playacar beaches are very good for white sand and clear water.

Probably depends on where you want to land. When we stayed on Cozumel in 2000, we had to fly into Cancun and then transfer to a 50-person plane to Cozumel (a bit too small for MY liking!) I assume the majority of the flights land at Cancun which has a much larger airport. Depends on what is available from where you're flying from.

Well, as far as I have seen of the Continental Plaza (saw it a day or two ago)is is it is still WAAY under construction and doesn't look anywhere near done, I hope your reservations are far in advance? Also, it doesn't appear to have much of a beach at all. I took this photo about a month ago:

Thank You for that nasty picture, Ginger!!! I don't think I want to stay there now!! I hadn't made reservations yet but was planning for the last week in May. It doesn't have a beach at all!!!

I stayed there last January and the above picture was accurate then. You can see in the distance a bit of beach that juts out to some rocks, and that was pretty close to what they had there. The resort was nearly empty then though, and the mall stretch of beach was more than enough for us, but it's not really anything like I'd seen before.

The biggest problem with the small beach was that the sun on the beach was gone by 1:30, once it would move west over the trees and buildings because you were so close to the beach wall and the buildings.

I would image that when it reopens under the new ownership, they will rebuild the beach.
