coming solo and need a nice cheap hotel

I would like to find a hotel in the range of $30.00 a night. Just passing through..never been there before and have always wanted to.

Need one for July 24th 1 night and then again for July 30th.

Also...what is the best way and cheapest way to get to Playa from the Cancun airport?
And, will need to find a way to get back from Playa on the 31st . My flight leaves at 9:35 a.m. in Cancun. What time should I leave Playa and how much does it cost for the transfer to Cancun?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Take the Big Blue Bus that says Riviera on the side straight from the airport to 5th avenue in Playa. It costs $2-4 american versus a $60 taxi ride--it is safe and air-conditioned (t.v.'s even)

In Playa I recommend The Rosa Mirador, Hotel Cohiba, or Phantom Paradise, all close to each other, all around $30. It is the off season so you don't need to book ahead, just walk in and barter for a room.

To get back to the airport, you can take the riviera bus in the afternoon, but it doesn't run early enough for morning flights, so you can just have your hotel book you a shuttle that picks you up, they all use the same service, it comes to your hotel, and takes you directly to the international terminal for $14 american.

You should also make sure you search (link towards the upper right corner) this forum for more information about getting on the bus from the Airport. The bus is the way to go, but you should be prepared or you may not find it.

One Important Note: When I was there a few months back, the first Riviera bus leaving from Playa to the airport was at 8am... I doubt that the schedule has changed.
