Joanie,
I cannot believe that. I have searched the East Lansing area for Sol. Have went to all the big distributors and one told me you will never see it in the US. Well, I guess I better go back and make him a visit. He needs to be informed. World Market has international wines, beers, but no Sol. We love Sol, along with our daughters and son-in-law . I was in Holiday, Florida in November, if I would have known, I would have picked some up, only I was flying, that may be a little difficult to get home. Houston too??!!!! Must be a southern thing.

could get it in Maryland, no problem (but somehow never did)
Remember that you have two major breweries in Mexico and normally (but not always) a restaurant or convenience store will sell only the products from one of them. Grocery stores usually carry both brewery products. I've made some detailed beer posts that you can find with the advanced search function. Sol only recently became available in disposable (NR) glass bottles. Corona is not available in disposable containers except for Corona de Barril (literally from the barrel, sold in stubbies). If you are paying 10 pesos for a beer in the store, you might be paying too much, or you're buying convenient singles near 5th Avenue. A six is generally available for 35 to 40 pesos. |

We can get Pacifico and Dos Equis, no problem. It must be in the more metropolitan areas (capital of Michigan is not so metropolitan) that carry SOL. I am going to my local party store and do some talking, God knows they make a lot of money off us on a weekly basis. Unfortunately we do not go in the Detroit direction very often, would not do us much good. But man are we looking forward to drinking the heck out of em in 30 days!!!!!

On another beer note, is there a recommended non-alcoholic beer in Mexico? Don't laugh! My dad wants to come along sometime and doesn't drink, but likes to pretend! |
