My wife and I are planning a trip to Playa in late November and will be staying at the Iberostar Paraiso for a week. We will be traveling with 4 other couples and are all looking forward to the trip. I would like any input (good or bad) about the resort. We also want to take an evening sail but have not been able to locate any info on sailboat charters out of Playa. I would appreciate any info. By the way, I really like your website. It contains a lot of great stuff!

Iberostar Paraiso is a new resort and it's probably nice. However, it's not actually in Playa del Carmen, but about 20 minutes north of here. The closest village to the resort is Puerto Morelos, a sleepy little fishing village with a couple of nice seafood restaurants. And thanks for the compliment!

We just returned from the Iberostar P. with 3 other families and loved it!!!! It is away from everything, which we enjoyed. They provide a luxury bus every hour to Playa that takes you to the other Iberostar( about 15 minutes) then you have to walk several blocks to the ferry and shops. You can also visit the other Iberostar in Cozumel, we took the ferry over for the day.We snorkeled in Puerto Moreles,(highly recommend) and their are many other excursions available that the travel group will brief you on when you arrive. The food was fabulous, resort is very large, beach was wonderful ( they provide large beach towels). The kids loved to feed the fish with bread rolls by the small rocky area to the left. The sand and water were perfect and clear!Kayakes are available at the beach.Enjoy, we plan to go back!

Stayed at Iberstar Quetzel 2 yrs ago. Loved it. It is a joint resort with Tucan. On site dive shop as well as many other activities and excursions. Staff works very hard to make sure you have a great time. Only reason we're not going there this yr is we like to try new places so we're going to Iberostar Parisio. Have Fun!

We plan to split our week up--three days in PDC and four days at the Iberostar Paraiso. I was just going to rent the car when in PDC, but I checked out rental car rates and it's not much cheaper to rent for 3 days than 7. If we rent a car for the whole week is there a place to park it at the Iberostar? I'm assuming most people who stay at an all-inclusive don't rent a car, but I have this need to move around and see things myself. (I generally hate group tours!!!)

Lolasse, do you know if this hotel is anywhere near the new the new Mayan Palace? I thought that I had read this somewhere, just wondering if it is so, we are trying to figure out what other hotels we may be near.
Thanks |
