Okay, Jesus, I give up. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out the significance of September 15th, but to no avail. While I'd like to believe there's a national holiday in Mexico called "Bumper's Birthday Eve Festival", I think I would have heard about it before now, so I suspect there's something else going on September 15th. Please enlighten me.

Gee Bumper, it took me a moment's googling to find out Sept. 15 is the feast of our lady of the sorrows... sounds really cheerful, that one! What's it about Jesus?
I have a festival around my birthday, too: the whole City of Lyon, France lights candles on Dec 6 or 8

And Rissask, your grade four teacher can be forgiven their error, it was, after all, what...45 years ago, or 50? (O-o-o-o, I'm gonna get it for that one.)

Close Bumper- grade four for me was about 25 years ago....I get the point though, what did they know wayyy back then right?

But I disagree on the 'everything is an island' thinking....some land masses are just too big and irregularly shaped to be considered 'islands'. And lots of the continents are connected to other one, if only by a small land bridge....
