Colibri vs. Pelicano

Two years ago we stayed in one of the Pelicano rooms right on the beach, 2nd floor. It was a great location if not the most upscale room. This year we are booking late (now) for late Feb/early March and all we can find that is beach view is the Colibri. Hard to tell if you really have a beach view and how far you are from the beach. How does the Colibri compare to the Pelicano? Are we better off staying somewhere a bit further back that has beach access but better location?

Thanks in advance!

We have stayed at the Pelicano, and also the Tropical Casablanca, very comparable room but they also have a pool. They are kitty-corner (almost) to the Cohiba (where we also stayed) and you can walk right through the Costa del Mar across the street to the beach, hardly a block away. You may want to checkthem out, the owners are very nice also and live on site.
