Massages, etc.

I wanted to let you all know of a wonderful massage therapist in Playa who will come to your hotel/home at your convenience for a variety of different massages (after the way things have been going here lately, I need to specify "LEGITIMATE" ones!). I've had lots of massages in my life, but I believe she may be the best massage therapist I've ever had. Not to mention her prices are much lower than at the local resorts and spas (she actually works for one of the larger, better-known ones as well). And she speaks very good English. If you would like to contact her, send me a private message and I will put you in touch with her. Again, I can't say enough good things about her.

If you want to try a nice salon/spa, however, I discovered a great one down in Puerto Aventuras today. Serena Spa runs the whole gamut of spa services in a very friendly, spotless, and relaxing atmosphere. They also offer the amenities of their hotel (pool, internet, restaurant, small workout room, TV, etc) if you use their services. (Oh, and the hotel looked delightful as well.) Prices are probably slightly lower than the spas in PdC - not cheap, but very worth it. If you go there, be sure and tell Lydia I sent you, because I told her I loved it and would spread the word.

EDIT: To the best of my knowledge, Serena Spa has not been operational since Hurricane Emily. If I ever hear of that changing, I'll let you know.

I'll be there next week and I think I'll want to take advantage of a much needed massage.

I wanted to let you know that I went back to Serena Spa today (yes, I liked it that much!) and recommend it even more today than yesterday! I have had the hardest time in Mexico finding a manicurist/pedicurist that didn't cut me! Tere at Serena not only didn't do that, she does the best polish job I've ever had in Mexico, and the 2nd best anywhere. Also got to be the guinea pig for a waxing training which was actually fun and scored me a huge discount as well. And not only all that, but I swear I look 10 yrs younger after that facial! I'm in love with the place, I tell ya! Can you say "girls' trip" this March sometime???

Denise, no problema removing the link... my bad. However, I will just say that the serena resort website is easy to find, should you choose to look for it. Is that okay to say?

Yes... it's amazing what you can find using Google.

Hi Susie,

"And not only all that, but I swear I look 10 yrs younger after that facial!"

I would guess that before the facial you didn't look a day over 29. So does that mean you now look 19. Have fun.

Hmmmm... I don't remember paying you, but I'm sure I must have! Either that, or I owe you big time! Thanks Murray and Heather!

PS - great meeting you guys, even if it was just for a fleeting moment that day and I'm glad to know that (somehow) you must have found your way back to the road!

Beach Walk

I still owe you a trip report but things here are busy. We walked a long ways north along very nice beaches, and there was some hard rock beaches also. We passed the military post but I guess they were on holidays so we avoided being shot. Had the Port of Calica in sight but decided to exit at the Horse riding/ATV beach. They have a very nice set up there and we were the only one's on the beach. I took a picture of the beach and our exit.

OHh that sounds wonderful Susie! I will have to do that when I finally get down there... I've never had a facial though but it sounds like that would be a nice treat too..

Hi Susie....

Do you happen to know what the lowest age limit is? My daughter will be 11 and I know most places here in the states don't do massages for kids. Just wondering...thought it might be a fun thing for us to do together. Thanks!!
