Iberostar Paraiso del Mar - Iberostar Paraiso Beach, What is the difference?
I have been doing some research about Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and the Iberostar Paraiso Beach. But I'm not sure what the difference is. If you stay at one can you use the other? Do you have to request one or the other? Which side is nicer?
Please help! |

I have not yet been (I leave in 2 weeks) but what I know from all my research is the beach and the del mar are on the same property and share facilities (restaurants, pool, beach etc). There are different lobbies for each I do believe. I think the booking depends on your tour provider (ie Sunquest may offer Beach and Signature offers del Mar). This is the same set up for the Quetzal/Tucan from what I understand.

We just got back yesterday. Had originally booked the Del Mar but was upgraded to the Lindo. The difference between the Del Mar and Beaches is your lobby is a different lobby. Otherwise you use both Del Mar and Beaches facilities. I believe fun jet books the Beaches and Apple books the Del Mar. The entire facility is wonderful and if you are looking to book at either one of these I would choose the least expensive. For us when we booked it was the Del Mar. There is really no difference between the two. It was funny because we had been there for four days before we realized we had been eating breakfast at the beaches buffet and not the Del Mar's! There is so much to see. Everyday I found something I had not seen before. I will be posting a trip report in the next couple of days!

We just got back on Saturday. We were staying at the Del Mar for the 2nd time, and halfway through the trip we got upgraded to their new Maya facility.
There are 4 resorts: The Del Mar & the Beach are nearly identical, and share all facilities. They share restaurants, pool, beach; the grounds are lush & tropical. They have separate lobbies & shops, but you can hang out at either and enjoy both. Next door is the Lindo & the newly opened Maya. These are a bit pricier properties, and they can also use the facilities at the Beach/Del Mar, but the Beach/Del Mar folks cannot use the Lindo/Maya facilities. The Lindo/Maya pool has a lazy river & wave pool - the entire pool area is a bit fancier. However, the jungle growth is much more minimal - it doesn't have the tropical "feel" of the Del Mar/Beach side, and there isn't nearly as many lovely birds around either. If you are deciding between Beach/Del Mar - don't worry - they are the same. And you can walk all up/down the beach - it's all lovely. I personally prefer the Beach/Del Mar over the Lindo/Maya as I value the jungle setting & open air restaurants. The Lindo/Maya had less plantings, fewer birds, more kids. Pool was really nice, but I also loved the Del Mar/Beach pool too. |

I agree with Calimari on this...I also prefer the Del-Mar/Beach the "real" Mexico resort look, the pool there is awesomely huge. I also stayed at Lindo and altho the price is higher I felt the "benefits" were not worth the extra expense. You can stay at del Mar/Beach and use the facilities (buffet, pools) at Lindo/Maya but you can not get "served" a drink by a waitress, that is what I was told. You can walk up to a bar there and be served by the bartender. I walked thru the Del Mar and the Beach and it was just what a resort should look like to me. The Lindo and Maya just seem a bit overdone for my tastes. Everyone is friendly and happy and the staff takes real pride in their work at the Iberostar complex.....I can not say enough..I WILL definitely return. I would suggest requesting a second or third floor room though due to the peacocks and also the view from higher up.
