The ship I was stationed on has a part in Tora, Tora, it was filmed while I was stationed in Hawaii. We went into drydock during the filming and where on a railway up about 30 feet in the air, front row seats to the filming of the attack on the battleships and Fort Island. Great movie.

Any of the Die Hard series if not all of them.

action movies

Not sure if these qualify as "action movies", but Hubby's favorite movie ever is "Thief". Planet of the Apes (the ORIGINAL) was awesome. I also liked Enemy of the State, 1981 version of Excalibur, Enemy at the Gates, Independence Day, the old movie Bonnie & Clyde, Collateral, House of Flying Daggers.

Not sure, Braveheart might be considered a drama (Either way it is a must have!).

First two Die Hards! (Can't deny Bruce Willis)

There are many more!

I have always loved the Lethal Weapon movies... good combination of action and humor... and Mel ain't bad to look at for a few hours either. Enjoy the Indiana Jones movies too. And of course, don't forget to throw in a Bond movie or two... those are classic action movies.

Aapocalypse Now, surreal and action-packed. Bullitt with Steve Mcqueen, great chase scenes.

Off the top off my head - Some that I didn't notice, might include:

The French Connection, Lawrence of Arabia, The Great Escape, Braveheart, Scarface ("Say Hello to My Little Friend"), Platoon, Apocalypse Now, The Wild Bunch, Bullitt, The Thomas Crown Affair (with Steve McQueen),

....Those are all I could just rattle off that I hadn't seen mentioned...

Have to side with sctx on the Professional. Indie flick but with a good amount of violence and a great ending! Action....get the first 24 season, will almost make you tired watching it! Another good one for your list is "Snatch". Action and humor!
